Mary Ruth McCall, 97, of Fulton, entered into eternal rest on Wednesday, February 15, 2012. She was born east of Fulton on January 14, 1915, the daughter of the late James William and Mary Isabel Gilmore Womack. She was married to W. Monroe McCall on September 17, 1938, in Jefferson City. He preceded her in death on June 22, 2004. Mrs. McCall was an elementary teacher for 33 years in rural schools in the Readsville area and retired from South Callaway RII School in 1974. Mrs. McCall and her husband lived on the family farm south of Readsville for over 60 years before moving to Fulton. Their farm was designated a Century Farm in 2001. Her early church membership was at Unity Baptist Church in Toledo. After marriage she was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church in Readsville. She was a member of Order of Eastern Star #35, Retired Teacher's Association, Readsville Community Club, as well as several education organizations. She enjoyed painting and her family. She is survived by one son, Dr. James (Jim) McCall and wife Linda of Fulton; son-in-law, Paul McCormack of Fulton; two granddaughters, Susan McCormack of Fulton and Marcy McCall of New Orleans, La.; one grandson, Steven McCormack and wife Bobbi of Columbia; great-grandson, Joseph McCormack, and great-granddaughter, Lillian McCormack. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Kathryn McCormack; and two sisters, Sarah Jennings and Lillian Alexander. Funeral services will be held at 9:00 a.m. on Thursday, February 23, at Debo Funeral Home in Fulton with Pastor Bruce Williamson officiating. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 8:00 a.m. until the time of service.
