Illa Ann Hook Althiser

Mrs. Illa Ann Hook Althiser, 78, of Fulton died Sunday, February 5, 2012, at Boone Hospital. She was born March 2, 1933, daughter of the late George and Thelma Hook. Illa married Lloyd Althiser on January 13, 1950. Mrs. Althiser was a member of Heartland Church of the Nazarene. She retired from JCPenney in Fulton. Lloyd and Illa enjoyed fishing, camping, and traveling. Her favorite things were quilting, crocheting, Cardinals baseball, and being a grandma. Survivors include: husband, Lloyd Althiser; children, Cathy Fries and her husband Bob of Fenton, Mo., Cristy Carroll and her husband Don of Davidson, N.C., Connie Tenney, and her husband Byron of Fulton, and Danny and his wife Mary of Fulton; eight grandchildren, Amy, Kara, Laura, Daniel, Lindsey, Sam, Jackson, and Davis; and 14 great-grandchildren. She will be dearly missed by her best friend, Nancy Terrell. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by five brothers, Clyde, Gerald, Donald, Frances, Ray; and one sister, Leila. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, February 8, 2012, at Maupin Funeral Home in Fulton, with Reverend Gary Garrett officiating. Interment will be held at Callaway Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 7, 2012, at Maupin Funeral Home.
