William "Bill" C. Myers, 81, of Fulton, passed away at his home on December 5, 2012. He was born July 12, 1931, in Oil Hill, Kan., the son of the late James Clifford Myers and the late Margaret (Mattox) Myers. On August 10, 1970, Bill was united in marriage to Ruth Ann (Garrett) Myers, who survives his passing at the home. Bill served in the US Army as a member of an artillery unit in the Korean War. From 1963 to 1995, Bill served his fellow citizens as a police officer in several cities including Fulton, Missouri. In 1973, Bill received the St. Louis County Chamber of Commerce's Medal of Valor for his off-duty actions, which stopped an armed robbery in progress. He was a member of the Richland Baptist Church. Bill enjoyed fishing, reloading bullets, hunting, camping, spending time with family, and working in his garden. In addition to his wife, Bill will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by one son, Ronald Myers and wife, Shari, of Texas; four daughters, Cristine McKenna of O'Fallon, Kathy Winingear and husband, Shorty, of Fulton, Marlene Yannie and husband, Robert, of St. Charles, and Shelly Anderson and husband, Charles, of Fulton; one sister, Betty Myers Keeling of Fulton; seven grandchildren, Dylan and Austin Anderson, JR Winingear, Zach and Helena Myers, Tyler McKenna, and Jeff Dalhoff; and one nephew, Clifford R. Newsom. In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by one daughter, Becky Myers. Memorial services will be 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, December 8, 2012, at Richland Baptist Church in Kingdom City with Reverend Larry Paris officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service on Saturday at Richland Baptist Church.
