Alma Jane Zbinden

Alma Jane Zbinden, 91, of Weslaco, Texas, died Tuesday, April 24, 2012, with Hospice. Born November 14, 1920 in Mexico, Mo., she was the daughter of the late Robert L. Howerton and Arlette (Jenkins) Howerton. On October 23, 1937, she married Hallie James Zbinden, who preceded her in death. She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Kenneth and Rosemary Zbinden of Fulton; daughter and son-in-law, Arlane and Charles Yeager of Otterville, Mo.; grandchildren, Kathy Richey Liddle (Bryant ), James Richard Zbinden (Cammy ), Dorothy Yeager, Tom Yeager (Debbie), Dena Jennings,(Bryan), Kenda Brewer; great- grandchildren, Christina Niedergerke (Nick), Jessica Richey, AnMei and KaiLi McCamman, Sarah and Samuel Jennings, Miranda, Jessica and Karlee Brewer. She is survived by one brother, Bill Howerton of Athens, Ill., and half-sister, Karen Proske of Quincy, Ill. Mrs. Zbinden was preceded in death by her daughter, Lydia Lynn (Pennie) Zbinden Sims of Fulton. Mrs. Zbinden was a longtime member of the Fulton Garden Club. A memorial service will be held at the Hillcrest Cemetery in Fulton at a later date. Memorial donations can be made to Callaway County United Way or one of your choice.
