Dorotha Evelyn (Jones) Meinhardt, 91, of Fulton, passed away on Friday, April 13, 2012, at her home. She was born July 26, 1920 in Omaha, Arkansas, the daughter of the late William Platt Jones and the late Eula Alice (Pemberton) Jones. On June 9, 1940, she was united in marriage to George Meinhardt, who preceded her in death on April 10, 2003. Dorotha graduated from Fulton High School in 1940. She worked at McIntire's Florists for 40 years as a floral designer. Dorotha delivered Meals on Wheels to Callaway County residents for many years. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Fulton. Dorotha also served on the decorating committee and received an Angel Pin for her 50 years of service to that committee. She spent many years working in Vacation Bible School at the Church as well as in Haiti. Dorotha made eight trips to Haiti as a short term missionary. With the aide of an interpreter, she taught bible school classes to children and hygiene classes to young mothers in many different villages. Dorotha will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by two grandchildren, Trevor Bulgin and wife, Denise, of Rocheport, and Malinda Schumacher and husband, Rick, of Olathe, Kan.; four great-grandchildren, Alyssa, Ashley, Ethan, and Evan Schumacher all of Olathe, Kan.; one sister, Bonnie J. Greger of Palmetto, Fla.; one brother, Jacob Jones of Portland; and one sister-in-law, Mabel Jones of Portland. In addition to her parents and her husband, Dorotha was preceded in death by one daughter, Doris Diane Bulgin; one brother, Roy R. Jones; one sister, Hazel Finley; one brother-in-law, Wilson Finley; and one sister-in-law, Betty Jones. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday, April 18, 2012, at Maupin Funeral Home in Fulton with Reverend Murray Buschert and Pastor Bruce Williamson officiating. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service on Wednesday also at Maupin Funeral Home. Entombment will be held at Callaway Memorial Gardens.
