Albert R Litel

Albert R. Litel, 73, of Mokane, passed away Friday, April 13, 2012, at Callaway Community Hospital. He was born October 17, 1938. in Mokane, the son of the late Ray D. and Blanche (Cheney) Litel. He was united in marriage to Joann Leisinger on September 17, 1964, in Fulton. She survives at their home. Albert proudly served his county in the United States Army from 1960 until 1963. He worked as a Security Aide at Fulton State Hospital for more than 40 years. Albert loved outdoor activities, especially hunting and fishing. He enjoyed music and played lead guitar in a band in his younger years. He was an avid fan of NASCAR and car racing and a member of AMVETS Post 153. While Albert loved life in general, he was happiest when surrounded by his family, children, grandchildren and friends. Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 47 years; two daughters, Regina Garland and husband Richard of Mokane and Angela Salmons and husband Mark of Fulton; brother, Paul Litel and wife Pat of Hams Prairie; sisters, Loretta Leeper and husband Gary of Fulton, Mary Stuart and husband Oscar of Highlandville, Roberta Garrett of Fulton, Delma Dauer and husband Jack of South Carolina, Wilma White and husband Bob of Fulton, and Shirley Peters of Florida; grandchildren, Nathan Morris and wife Ashley, Tyklen Salmons, Ashley Weise and husband Dylan, and Erin Garland; and great-granddaughter, Allie Morris. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Richard Litel. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, April 17, at Debo Funeral Home in Fulton with Brother David Coleman officiating. Entombment will follow at Callaway Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 5 until 7 p.m. on Monday, April 16, at the funeral home.
