Patricia "Pat" A. Pruitt, 60, of Holts Summit, passed away Tuesday, April 3, 2012, at her home, with her family by her side. She was born September 28, 1951, in Springfield, a daughter of the late Curtis G.S. and Mary Anna (Mack) Baker. She was a 1969 graduate of Central High School in Springfield, and went on to graduate from Lincoln University in Jefferson City, where she earned her Liberal Studies degree. On July 27, 1989, she was united in marriage to Brigadier General James L. Pruitt (Ret.), who preceded her in death on January 10, 2012. She was an Account Clerk at the Jefferson City Housing Authority from 1984 - 1987; an Office Manager at Architects Alliance from 1987 - 1990; and an Administrative Assistant at Lincoln University from 1990 - 2000. She was a member of the Missouri Army National Guard Auxiliary. She devoted her heart and soul to the development of the Missouri National Guard Family Program. She is survived by: two daughters, Jennifer A. Markway (husband Jeff) of Holts Summit, and Jessica L. Geldner (husband Mike) of Fulton; three step-sons, James M. Pruitt (wife Debbie) of St. Elizabeth, Michael B. Pruitt (wife Laura) of Grosse Pointe Park, Mich., Gregory A. Pruitt (Sandy) of Jefferson City; two brothers, Curtis J. Baker of Forsyth and Phillip M. Baker of Flowers Mound, Texas; one sister, Cynthia L. Witt of Jefferson City; and nine grandchildren. Friends will be received from 4:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. Friday, April 6, 2012, at the Slater-Millard Family Funeral Chapel in Holts Summit. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, April 7, 2012, at the Slater-Millard Family Funeral Chapel, with Chaplain Gary Gilmore of the Missouri National Guard officiating. Interment will follow in the Summit Memorial Park Cemetery in Holts Summit. In lieu of flowers, expressions of sympathy may be made to the Missouri National Guard Foundation, 213 East Capitol Avenue (Suite 1), Jefferson City, MO 65101, or Hospice Compassus.
