Margaret G. Hamlin

Margaret G. Hamlin, 92, formerly of Columbia, died Friday, September 9, 2011, at Katy Manor in Pilot Grove. Mrs. Hamlin was born November 27, 1918, in Baltimore, Maryland, to John S. and Margaret E. Cooper Cook. She was married to Griffith A. Hamlin on June 1, 1943. He preceded her in death on May 23, 2003. Mrs. Hamlin received her BS in Education, Masters in Religious Education and later taught school in the Fulton Public Schools for many years. She and her husband moved to Columbia from Fulton in 1990. She is survived by two sons, John C. Hamlin and his wife Pat of Hartsburg, and Griffith Hamlin Jr. and his wife Donna of Columbia; two grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at 1:30 p.m., Saturday, September 17, 2011, in the Epple Chapel at Lenoir Woods Retirement Community.
