Joseph Warren Tate
Joseph Warren Tate, 86,
of Mexico, passed away
Monday, September 5, 2011,
at Missouri Veteran's Home
in Mexico.
He was born December 6,
1924, in Readsville, Mo., the
son of
Marcus Caleb
and Ophelia
B e l l
(Smith) Tate.
J o e
p r o u d l y
served his
c o u n t r y
during World
War II in the
United States
Army. He was a retired
employee of the state of
Missouri, working at both
Fulton State Hospital and the
Department of Corrections in
Jefferson City. In past years
he enjoyed fishing, his dogs,
and traveling. He was of the
Baptist faith.
He is survived by one son,
Bruce Joe Tate and wife Karen
of Rocky Mount; one
daughter, Cheryl Lyne Tate
Blankenship and husband
Paul David of Lee's Summit;
seven grandchildren, Cody
and Justin Feltner of Fulton,
Sarah Record and Shelby
Tate of Jefferson City, and
John Blankenship, Courtney
Ray and Lindsey Velasquez
of Lee's Summit; five greatgrandchildren;
and numerous
nieces and nephews,
great and great-great-nieces
and nephews, all in the Fulton
area.
He was preceded in death
by his parents; daughter,
Christina Helene Tate
Feltner; and brother, Edward
Smith Tate.
Graveside services will be
held at Hillcrest Cemetery in
Fulton at 2 p.m. on Wednesday
September 7, with
Chaplain Raymond Iman
officiating. The family will
receive friends from 1:30 until
the time of service as well
as following the service.
