Halbert Eugene Parker, 84, of Williamsburg, passed away Sunday, October 9, 2011, at his home. He was born on December 1, 1926, in Matthews, the son of the late Edward Parker and Mary Ruby (Binford) Grable. On January 22, 1971, he was united in marriage to Marlene (Heldt) Parker, who survives his passing. Halbert was a member of the Old Auxvasse Nine Mile Presbyterian Church. He was an avid deer hunter and fisherman as well as a member of the St. Louis County Auxiliary Police Department. Halbert loved deep frying fish, telling jokes and watching Cardinals baseball. He also enjoyed music and singing in church. In addition to his wife, Mr. Parker will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by four sons, Gene Parker and wife Pat of Lake St. Louis, Ronald Parker and wife Stephanie of Lemay, David Parker of St. Louis, and Jeff Parker and wife Mary of Wentzville; one step-son, Dennis Fischer and wife Suzanne of High Ridge; one step-daughter, Vicki Keasling and husband Darren of Worden, Ill.; one sister, Racine Fox of Hayden, Idaho; eight grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and three step- grandchildren. Mr. Parker was preceded in death by one brother, Edward Parker Jr., and one sister, Juanette Oliveria. Funeral services will be on Saturday, October 15, 2011, at 10:30 a.m. at Maupin Funeral Home in Fulton with Reverend Jim Cruickshank officiating. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. before the service at Maupin Funeral Home. Interment will be at St. James Cemetery in Big Spring.
