Charles "Bill" W. Thompson

Charles W. "Bill" Thompson, 75, of Steedman, passed away Tuesday, October 11, 2011, at his home. He was born in Vienna, the son of the late Raymond Thompson and Lucille (Fisher) Thompson. On February 14, 2002, he was united in marriage to Doris (Qualls) Thompson, who survives his passing. Mr. Thompson worked for ABB for 25 years then at South Callaway as a custodian. Bill was a member of the Church of God Holiness in Reform. He loved the outdoors, particularly hunting and fishing. In addition to his wife, Mr. Thompson will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by three sons, Ricky C. Thompson of St. Louis, Kevin L. Thompson of Vienna, and Nicolas C.W. Thompson of Sedalia; two daughters, Rhonda K. Herndon and husband, Bobby, of Adrian, and Debbie A. Stokes of Vienna; three step-children, Marla Trotter and husband Chris of Steedman, Clint O'Neal of Steedman, Michelle Hancock and husband Dan of Jefferson City; four brothers, Don Thompson of Vienna, Marvin Thompson of St. James, Lonnie Thompson of Lohman, and Ronnie Thompson of Vienna; one sister, Mary Margaret Crider of St. Elizabeth; 16 grandchildren and six great-grandsons. In addition to his parents, Mr. Thompson was preceded in death by one brother, Raymond Thompson, and an infant sister, Dessie Mae Thompson. Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, October 14, 2011, at Maupin Funeral Home with Pastor Dennis West officiating. Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 13, 2011, at Maupin Funeral Home. Interment will be held at Riverview Cemetery.
