Glyn "Nick" William Nichols

Glyn "Nick" William Nichols, 84, of Fulton, died Friday, October 7, 2011, at his home in Fulton. He was born August 2, 1927, in Hartsburg, the son of the late A. Payton and Annie (Hagans) Nichols. On December 13, 1950, he married Clara Lee Hiatt in Fulton and she preceded him in death. He served in the United States Navy during World War II. Mr. Nichols was the previous owner of "The Spot CafÈ" in Fulton. He drove a truck for WB Smith Hatchery, worked for Riback Pipe & Steel, T&T Plumbing, and Tallmage Plumbing, all of Columbia. He is also survived by four sons, Ray Hiatt of Columbia, Mike Nichols, Jerry Nichols, and Tommy Nichols, all of Fulton; three daughters, Deanna Herron of Columbia, Sarah Rees and Sandi Houchins, both of Fulton; 13 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren; one sister, Joanna Hagans of Columbia; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife; a son, James Patrick Nichols; and several brothers and sisters. Memorial Services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, October 15, at the Debo Funeral Home in Fulton with Rev. Mike Crowson officiating. Family will receive friends on Saturday from 1:00 p.m. until time of service at the funeral home. Burial will be at Callaway Memorial Gardens.
