Sara Louise Schramm Davis, 48, of New Bloomfield, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, September 29, 2011, at St. Mary's Health Center after suffering from leukemia and a long battle with intractable chronic pain. Sara was born on March 28, 1963, in New Haven, Connecticut, the daughter of Carolyn (Holbeck) "Kay" Clemensen. On September 13, 2002, she was united in marriage to Gale Davis, who survives her passing. Sara grew up in Orange County, California and attended Foothills High School. She was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Fulton. Sara enjoyed gardening, crocheting, cooking, and reading. She loved children and making new friends, and she enriched the lives of everyone she met. In addition to her husband and mother, Sara will be lovingly remembered and missed by two sons, Christopher Cronin of California and Bryant Cronin of St. Louis; three daughters, Shannon Leist and husband Kelly, of Iowa, Amanda Spina and husband Tony, of St. Louis, and Emily Davis of Colorado; three grandchildren, Hannah, Zack, and Aniella; two sisters, Jennifer Philippe and husband Greg, of St. Louis, and Beth West and husband Brian, of California; one sister-in-law, Darlene Bangerter and husband Fred, of New Bloomfield; one aunt, Marcia Fritz and husband Bernie; one grandmother, Grandma Lois Holbeck; and nieces and nephews. Sara was preceded in death by her grandfather, Carl Holbeck, and father-in-law, Chris (Poppa) Cronin. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, October 3, 2011, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church in Fulton with Pastor David Mueller officiating. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. on Monday until the time of the service at St. Paul's Lutheran Church. In lieu of interment, Sara's wishes were to be cremated.
