William Arthur Vaughn Sr.

William Arthur "Bill" Vaughn Sr., 79, of Calwood, Mo., passed away Monday, November 21, 2011, at the Veterans Hospital in Columbia, Mo. He was born on August 8, 1932, in New Bloomfield, Mo., the son of the late Ira D. Vaughn and Roxie (Day) Vaughn Gilman. William enjoyed fishing and gambling. He loved spending time with family, friends, and his dog, Rocky. In addition to his mother, William will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by one daughter, Donna Vaughn Bentch of Holts Summit; two sons, William A. "Pete" Vaughn Jr. and wife Lisa of Fort Scott, Kan., and Clint Vaughn and wife Melbi of Hams Prairie; one step-daughter, Brenda Payne of Fulton; two brothers, Gerald W. Vaughn of Calwood and Kenneth D. Gilman of Calwood; two sisters, Doris Mae Dudley of Calwood, and Mary L. Giboney of Calwood; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. In addition to his father, he was also preceded in death by one daughter, Kimberly Vaughn; one step-daughter, Beverly Maupin; one brother, Richard Gilman; and a special friend, Martha Schmidt. Funeral services will be 12:00 p.m. on Friday, November 25, 2011, at Maupin Funeral Home in Fulton, Mo., with Reverend Mike Crowson officiating. Interment will be held at Hams Prairie Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service on Friday at Maupin Funeral Home.
