Nearis C. (Fuzzy) Browning, 68, of Franklin, passed away at his home on Sunday morning, November 13, 2011, surrounded by his family. Nearis Clayman Browning was born in Callaway County on August 1, 1943, the son of Nearis Gaines Browning and Zula Ann Hook Browning. Fuzzy was well known as a logger throughout the area as well as a trusted cattleman and farmer. He was active in the community as a member of the LionÃs Club, board of directors for the Howard County CattlemenÃs Association, and on the board of directors for the Mid America Santa Gertrudis Association. He is survived by his wife, Ruth, of the home, his daughters, Deborah L. Browning of Kansas City and Samantha A. Woods and her husband, Jeff, of Franklin; his grandchildren Kirsten, Kristopher and Kourtney Woods. He is also survived by his brothers Delbert W. and wife Sandra Browning, Boonville, John R. and wife Sherry Browning of Clinton, Ralph E. and wife Rebecca Browning of Lexington. His sisters Mary F. Brewer of Fulton, Daisy M. and husband Frank Warmbrodt of Wooldridge and Martha K. Redden of Boonville. He is also survived by his sister-in-law Lynn Browning of Sedalia. Fuzzy was preceded in death by his parents, by a brother, James L. Browning, by his sisters Lula B. Brownley and Betty A. Smith. Visitation will be at Davis Funeral Chapel Tuesday evening from 6 - 8 oÃclock. Friends may call from noon until time of the visitation. Funeral services for Fuzzy will be held at Davis Funeral Home on Wednesday, November 16, 2011 at 1:00 p.m., with Rev. Roger McMurry officiating. Burial will follow at Boonesboro Cemetery with full military honors. Memorials are suggested to the American Cancer Society or to the Howard County Home Health and Hospice.
