Ruby Windsor Koupal

Ruby Windsor Koupal, age 96, passed away on Sunday, October 30, 2011, at Manor Care Nursing Home in Denver, Colo. Ruby was born on a farm in Windsor Valley to Ida Belle and Clifford Windsor on October 20, 1915. She was married to Fred P. Koupal in 1936. Thanks to Fred's piloting career, they lived in six states throughout their lives, settling on a farm in Callaway County near Ruby's birthplace in 1954. Both retired to Fulton in 1995. Ruby moved to Colorado in 2005 after Fred's death. Ruby was a member of 9-Mille Presbyterian Church, Williamsburg, Mo., for 40 years and a member of Fulton Presbyterian for 10 years. She was known for her marvelous sense of humor, beautiful quilts/stitchery and home cooking. She will be missed by her three children: Wayne Koupal (Bette) of Los Angeles Calif., Robyn Kanewske (Steve) of Denver, Colo. and Tim Koupal (Marla) of Colorado Springs Colo. Ruby had seven grandchildren: Marc (Fang Fang) and Drew Koupal, Karin (Ken) and Brian Kanewske, and Nate, Chris, and Ryan Koupal; and three great-grandchildren: Nelle and Sam Kanewske and Chet Turner. She is survived by one sister, Peggy Smith of Jefferson City; and two brothers, Doyle Windsor and Rea Windsor of Callaway County. numerous nieces and nephews. There will be a service at 9-Mile Presbyterian/Oak Grove Cemetery in the spring of 2012 when Ruby's ashes will be placed next to her beloved husband of 61 years, Fred Koupal.
