Cleva Holt, formerly of Fulton, was called home by God, Saturday, October 29, 2011, at her home in Garland, Texas. Cleva Holt was born in New Bloomfield on February 20, 1922, to Myrthal and Nellie Holt. Cleva was a long-time resident of Fulton until she moved to Texas in 2008, to be near her son. She attended school in New Bloomfield and Jefferson City. She also attended Lincoln University. She was very active in the community and was proud of her position as coordinator of the OATS bus. Ms. Cleva, as she was called in Sedalia, was known as "the pretty lady with the little boy" as they would walk hand-in-hand to town. She worked for the Yates family for many years in Sedalia before marrying John Isbell and moving to Fulton in 1967. She will be sorely missed by a long list of relatives and friends. Cleva loved fishing at Little Dixie and baseball. Her sense of humor will be missed by all. She is survived by her brother, Robert Holt of Albion, Mich.; one son, Gordon (Gene) Holt and wife Cecile of Texas; grandchildren, Lynn, Dana, and Gordy and wife Christi of Texas and Gina Lane of Md., Carla Brandon of Mich.; great- grandchildren, Gordon (Trey) of Texas, Iesha and Carmara of Md.; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her husband John Isbell and eldest brother Finis Holt. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, November 5, 2011, at Debo Funeral Home in Fulton with Reverend Cedric Harris officiating. Interment will follow at Callaway Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until the time of service. Condolences can be sent by visiting www.debofuneralhome.com.
