Karla Faye Kay, 52, of Holts Summit, passed away Monday, May 16, 2011, at her home. She was born April 9, 1959, in Sikeston, the daughter of Kenneth and Ethel Morse, and Karna Ware. She was united in marriage to Larry Kay on August 30, 1980, at the First Baptist Church in Fulton, He survives at the home. Karla was a residential advisor at Missouri School for the Deaf. She enjoyed crocheting, crafts, fishing and playing games. Her greatest enjoyment came from being in her home and surrounded by family. Along with her parents and husband, she leaves behind to cherish her memory three daughters, Kimberly Gilmore, Marla Kay, and Dawn Kay all of Columbia; six brothers, Kenny Morse of Mexico, David Morse of South Korea, Gary Ware and wife Tammy of Sikeston, Danny Ware and wife Carissa of Sikeston, Kevin Morse and wife Gretchen of Cape Girardeau, and Bobby Watkins of Sikeston; one sister, Angie Penrod and husband Bobby of Sikeston; and three grandchildren, Elissa Gilmore, Fayla Kay-Young, and Aiden Gilmore. She was preceded in death by one sister, Angie Watkins, and grandparents, Mary Ann and Orlin (Salty) Morse. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, May 20, 2011, at Debo Funeral Home in Holts Summit with Pastor Bruce Williamson officiating. Interment will follow at Summit Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Thursday, May 19 at the funeral home.
