Elwood Donovan Kemp

Elwood Donovan "E.D." Kemp, 77, of Fulton, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 6, 2011 at his home. He was born August 20, 1933 in Wellsville, the son of Elwood R. and Donzella (Shelton) Kemp. On November 16, 1968, he was united in marriage to Delores Gess in Wellsville. She survives at the home. E.D. was employed at Wellsville Firebrick Co. He loved fishing and slow pitch softball. His life service included serving his country in the Korean War. He became a Deacon in 1977 at St. Paul Baptist Church in Wellsville, and continued that service at Calvary Baptist Church upon moving to Fulton. Along with his wife, he will be greatly missed by his children, Sherry Kemp of California, Demorris Johnson of Boston, William Van Buren of Anchorage (daughters Felicia and DeLaura), Eric Van Buren of Anchorage, Eddie (Felice) Kemp and children of Colorado, Roderick (Jackie) Van Buren of Anchorage (daughters LaToya and Makenzee), Delora (Ronald) Vaughn (son Xavier) of Fulton, and Felicia (Pili) Robinson, (daughters Alexis and Keira and son Jelani) of St. Louis; his sister, Roanna Johnson of Chicago; several nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Elnora Briscoe. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, May 14, 2011 at Second Christian Church in Fulton, with Reverend Cedric Harris officiating. The family will receive friends from noon until the time of service.
