Louise Chisham

Louise Chisham, 88, of Fulton, passed away Monday, June 27, 2011, at the Callaway Community Hospital. She was born September 24, 1922, in Ralls County, Missouri, the daughter of John Taylor Murray and Bessie RevaLee (Corethers) Murray. On April 25, 1941, she was united in marriage to Joseph Reed Chisham Sr., by Reverend John Golden at Hannibal, Missouri. Mr. Chisham preceded her in death on November 17, 1976. Louise graduated from Rensselaer High School in May, 1941. She was a member of the Huntington Christian Church and attended the Monroe City Christian Church until she moved to Fulton, Missouri, in March, 1995, to the Rocktree Apartments. She became a resident of the Fulton Presbyterian Manor in November, 2005. Louise loved and enjoyed being with and having her family, especially her grandchildren, close by and was actively involved with them and their activities while she was able to do so. She will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by two daughters, Doris Dooley and her husband, Ron, of Fulton, Missouri and Frances Peterson and her husband, Doug, of Port St.Lucie, Florida; one son, Joe (J. R.) Chisham and his wife, Mary Ann, of Monroe City, Missouri; eight grand-children; 15 great-grand-children; five step-great-grandchildren; three step-great-great grandchildren; one sister, Lois Vail of Lakeland, Florida, and several nieces and nephews. Louise was preceded in death by her parents; husband; great-grandson, Tyler Joseph Duncan; brother, John T. Murray; and sister, Thelma F. Ruhl. Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, July 1, 2011, at Garner Funeral Home and Chapel in Monroe City, Missouri, with Reverend Steve Goughnour officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 30, 2011. Interment will be held at St. Jude Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Monroe City Senior Nutrition Center, c/o Garner Funeral Home, 315 North Vine, Monroe City, MO 63456.
