Bessie Kathryn Wolking

Bessie "Kathryn" Wolking, 92, of Fulton, passed away Sunday, June 19, 2011, at her daughter's home in New Bloomfield. She was born December 3, 1918 in Mineola, the daughter of J o s h u a Luther and Bessie Kellie ( S t e w a r t ) Bratton. She was united in marriage to W a l t e r W i l l i a m Wolking on November 20, 1940, in Fulton. He preceded her in death. Kathryn loved her family, especially her grandkids. She loved her kitty cat, Pretty Baby. She enjoyed gardening and serving large meals. Kathryn was a secretary at Fulton State Hospital. She was a member of Court Street United Methodist Church. Left to cherish her memory are three daughters, Sherry Jenkins and husband Lawrence of Auxvasse, Kathy Wolking of New Bloomfield, and Susan Wolking of Mexico; one sister, Pauline Holland of Holts Summit; 17 grandchildren; and 44 greatgrandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; two sons, Curt and Jerry; one brother, Stewart Bratton; one grandson; and one great-granddaughter. Funeral services will be held at Debo Funeral Home in Fulton at 1 p.m. on Friday, June 24 with Pastor Steve Mallinckrodt officiating. Interment will follow at Callaway Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends on Thursday, June 23 from 5 until 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
