John C. Donahue, 61, of Weatherford, Texas, formerly of Williamsburg, passed away Wednesday, June 1, 2011. He was born July 8, 1949, in Moorehead, Minn., the son of Joseph P. and Evelyn C. (Jacobs) Donahue. On December 29, 1969, he was united in marriage to Linda (Schmidt) Donahue, who survives at their home. John retired after 30 years of service in the United States Army as a Lieutenant Colonel. He was a Vice President of Defense Support Services in Ft. Worth, Texas. He enjoyed music, cars, fishing and spending time with his family. In addition to his wife, he will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by one son, Sean Donahue and his wife Melinda, of Austin, Texas; one daughter, Vicki Taylor and her husband James, of Cypress, Texas; three grandchildren, Lane and Ryan Taylor and Kella Donahue; one brother, James P. Donahue and his wife Linda, of Harker Heights, Texas; four sisters, Kathy Wiecken of Williamsburg, Diane Hoffman of Polk, Pa., Robin Silvis of Augusta, Ga., and Susan Whitmore of Bradenton, Fla.; and numerous nieces and nephews. His parents and step-father preceded him in death. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. on Monday, June 6, 2011, at Maupin Funeral Home in Fulton. Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 5, 2011, at Maupin Funeral Home in Fulton. Interment will be held at High Point Cemetery in Montgomery City.
