Murline A. Painter, 91, of Fulton, Missouri, passed away Tuesday, May 31, 2011, at Fulton Manor Care. She was born September 25, 1919, in Odessa, Missouri, the daughter of the late William Tyree Armstrong and Virginia Mae (Nolen) Armstrong. Murline graduated from Odessa High School, she took a postgraduate commerce course at Monroe City High School. Shortly after completing her course, she was appointed to a position in the Missouri Social Security Commission and was attached to the district office in Trenton, Missouri. She was transferred from there to the Columbia office of the Commission and later accepted a position with MFA Oil Company in Columbia. She later worked in the family business, Fulton Locker Plant. She retired from Fulton Public Schools at as secretary at Center School after many years. After retirement, she worked at Westminster College in the library. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, PEO, Callaway Hospital Ladies Auxiliary and volunteered in the hospital gift shop for many years. She will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by three children, Linda (Bobby) Love of Fulton, Missouri, Bill (JoAnn) Painter of Fulton, Missouri and Mike Painter of Broomfield, Colorado; seven grandchildren, David (Lisa) Love, Brian (Misty) Love, Joe Painter, Jackie (Eric) Hudson, Autum Painter, Jason (Sarah) Painter and Janel Rivera; nine great- grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Her parents and one brother, Dr. Nolen Armstrong preceded her in death. Graveside memorial services will be 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 2, 2011, at Callaway Memorial Gardens in Fulton, Missouri, with Pastor Bruce Williamson officiating.
