James Joseph Byrnes

James Joseph Byrnes, 72, of New Bloomfield, passed away Thursday, December 1, 2011, at his home. He was born on May 2, 1939, in St. Louis, the son of the late James A. Byrnes and Viola (Mueller) Byrnes. On May 13, 1960, James was united in marriage to Donna R. (Drew) Byrnes, who survives his passing. James was a member and Deacon at Dry Fork Baptist Church. He was also a member of IBEW Local 1 and of the New Bloomfield Lion's Club. In addition to his wife, James will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by three children, Jennifer J. Knipp and husband Steve of Auxvasse, James L. Byrnes and wife Dawn of Holts Summit, and Kimberly A. Westhoff and husband Dave of Ashland; six grandchildren; and three siblings, his twin sister, Joan A. Gleb of New Bloomfield, Joseph C. Byrnes of O'Fallon, and William J. Byrnes of Wentzville. In addition to his parents, James was preceded in death by one sister, Mary L. Middendorf. Funeral services will be at Dry Fork Baptist Church on Saturday, December 3, 2011, at 1:00 pm with Dr. Curtis Lewis and Brother Daniel Byrnes officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Friday, December 2, 2011, at Maupin Funeral Home with an additional visitation from 12:00 p.m. until the time of service on Saturday. Interment will be held at Dry Fork Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Dry Fork Baptist Church and Gideon International, c/o Maupin Funeral Home, 301 Douglas Blvd., Fulton, MO 65251.
