Bethany-Wanda Lorene DeBruler, 97, of Bethany passed away Tuesday, August 9, 2011, at Sullivan Health Care Center, Sullivan, Ill. Wanda was born on January 13, 1914 in Bethany, Ill., the daughter of William Aaron and Barbara Estella (Walker) DeBruler. Miss DeBruler attended grade school and high school in Bethany, Ill. She was employed as a key punch operator for the Illinois Power Company in Decatur, for 34 years until her retirement. Wanda is a member of the First Christian Church in Bethany and was a member of the Sullivan Country Club. Miss DeBruler is survived by her sister, Martha Catherine DeBruler of Sullivan, Ill.; nephew's wife, Marilee McCallister of Fulton; a great-niece, Lynn Ann McCallister of Overland Park, Kan.; great-nephew, Brian Forrest (Cyndy) McCallister and their children, Kyle, Mitchell and Jillian of Kansas City, Mo.; and by her devoted friends, Mary Gaither and family of Bethany. She was preceded in death by her sister, Pauline Bernice (DeBruler) McCallister; her brother-in-law, Raymond Forrest McCallister; and her nephew, Raymond Forrest McCallister Jr. Wanda's family is sincerely grateful for the compassionate care Wanda received at the Sullivan Health Care Center. The daily acts of kindness and friendship given to Wanda by the staff will always be remembered. Visitation will be held one hour before the services at McMullin-Young Funeral Home, Bethany, Ill. Burial will be in Marrowbone Township Cemetery, Bethany. Funeral services will be held 1:30 p.m., Saturday, August 13, 2011, at McMullin-Young Funeral Home, Bethany, Ill.
