David Walker Eisenhour

David Walker Eisenhour, age 64, of Fulton, passed away Wednesday, August 3, 2011, unexpectedly at University Hospital in Columbia. Born in St. Louis, to Benjamin and Dorothy Eishenhour on September 19, 1946, David grew up in the St. Charles area. Music was David's first love. At an early age he became proficient at the piano. He played flute at the Francis Howell High School and in 1968, David graduated from Washington University with a degree in music education. That same year, he joined the Army and was recruited into the Army Band. After finishing his service in 1970, David married Martha Briscoe, with whom he shared his love of music. He attended the University of Denver and graduated with a Master of Arts degree in flute performance. He taught band and music in Piedmont, Pleasant Hope and Miller, as well as Kansas City, Kansas and Silverton, Colorado. David loved and respected nature and often enjoyed backpacking, camping, and hiking in wilderness areas. During the last few years, cycling the Katy Trail and RAGBRAI, the annual bike ride across Iowa, and the Boarder Raiders Bike Tour added to his pleasure. David is survived by his wife, Martha Briscoe Eisenhour; cousins, Mary Ann Gehrs, Bernadine Fassler, Kathryn Herrell, Jonathan Bach, Geralyn Grieshaber, Faith Bach, and Joshua Bach; and his beloved cats, Sugar, Little Bear, Clyde, and Spice. Visitation will be 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 14, 2011 at Maupin Funeral Home in Fulton. Memorial Services will be 3:00 p.m. on Sunday at Maupin Funeral Home in Fulton, with Reverend Doctor Chadha officiating.
