The Fulton Special Olympics Unified basketball team captured its second straight gold medal at the Missouri State Indoor Games on March 18 at Fort Leonard Wood.

Fulton edged a team from the St. Louis area 31-29 on a buzzer-beater, then turned back a squad from the Cape Girardeau area 43-41 in overtime in the title game.

"Our dedicated team played with fortitude, tenacity, and conviction throughout these past five months," head coach Ken Petterson said. "Four of our team members are current Fulton High School students. It was a privilege to help guide this team to another championship."
