Jaguars RB cited for careless driving in pond crash

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (AP) - Jacksonville Jaguars running back Denard Robinson has been cited for careless driving after a single-car accident earlier this month in which his car crashed into a retention pond.

A Jacksonville Sheriff's Office report released Thursday cited Robinson for the moving traffic violation in the July 3 incident. Neither Robinson nor a woman in the car was injured.

Authorities say both people were asleep when officers arrived at 4:20 a.m. to find the driver's side of the Chevrolet Impala submerged in the pond. Officers helped the woman out of the car and woke up Robinson.

Officers determined Robinson was not impaired and should not face a DUI charge, according to the report.
