The Hornets managed only a singles win and a doubles victory in dropping their home and North Central Missouri Conference opener to the Pirates on Tuesday night.
Junior Aiden Petterson prevailed at No. 1 singles for Fulton (1-1), then teamed with junior John Adams for a win at No. 1 doubles.
The Hornets host Osage at 4:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 26.
