Boys' basketball: Missouri School for Deaf 38, North Callaway (JV) 32

Junior center Mikal Meriwether recorded a double-double with a game-high 18 points and 11 rebounds as the Eagles held on for the home victory over the Thunderbirds on Thursday night.

MSD (3-1) owned a 34-18 lead and preserved the win despite being outscored by North Callaway 14-4 in the fourth quarter. Sophomore guard Jayden Riordan tallied nine points, seven rebounds and three assists for the Eagles, while junior guard Damar Washington had six points and four rebounds.

Brandan Hill led the Thunderbirds with 13 points and Manny Moreno supplied 10.

Weather permitting, MSD is scheduled to travel to the Kansas School for the Deaf for a matchup against the Iowa School for the Deaf at 3 p.m. today, followed by games against the Illinois School for the Deaf (8 a.m.) and host KSD (5:30 p.m.) on Saturday.
