BELLEVILLE, Ill. - Junior guard Treshawn Gause connected for a game-high 21 points and the Owls halted a two-game losing streak with their AMC win over the Lynx on Tuesday night.
William Woods University - completing a season sweep of Lindenwood University-Belleville - raised its season record to 16-9 and improved to 13-5 in the American Midwest Conference. The Owls carried a 49-45 lead into halftime and outscored the Lynx 40-35 in the second half.
Senior guard Shad Kimble added 16 points for William Woods, which shot 53 percent (31-of-58) from the field. Freshman forward Andrew Nett tallied 13 points and junior forward David Johnson Jr. had 12.
Lindenwood-Belleville tumbled to 4-23 on the season and 4-15 in the AMC.
The Owls return home for an AMC matchup against Lyon (Arkansas) College at 7:30 tonight at Anderson Arena. William Woods prevailed at Lyon 66-61 on Jan. 3.
