Women's basketball: Lindenwood-Belleville (Ill.) 58, William Woods 53

BELLEVILLE, Ill. - The Lady Owls were outscored by the Lady Lynx by a combined 33-12 in the second and fourth quarters of Tuesday night's American Midwest Conference loss.

William Woods University - which has dropped three of its last four - slipped to 16-10 overall and 12-8 in the AMC. Lindenwood University-Belleville - avenging a 64-52 loss to the Lady Owls on Jan. 8 in Fulton - improved to 12-14 on the season and is also 12-8 in conference play.

William Woods was in front 20-17 after one quarter Tuesday night, but the Lady Lynx outscored the Lady Owls 13-3 in the second quarter to go on top 30-23 at halftime. William Woods countered by outscoring Lindenwood-Belleville 21-8 in the third quarter to regain the lead at 44-38.

The Lady Lynx, though, rallied by outscoring the Lady Owls 20-9 in the fourth quarter.

Senior guard Bailey Rollins finished with 12 points as the only player to reach double figures for William Woods, which shot just 33 percent (18-of-54) as a team. Junior guard Ashleigh Frampton scored nine points.

Junior guard Peyton Greenlee collected a team-high eight rebounds as the Lady Owls were outrebounded 40-34.

Brianna Mueller - who was 5-of-10 from 3-point range - erupted for a game-high 29 points to guide Lindenwood-Belleville, which shot only 35 percent (19-of-54) from the field. Hailey Erdman tallied 14 points.

William Woods opens a three-game homestand with an AMC game against No. 17 Lyon (Arkansas) College at 5:30 p.m. Thursday at Anderson Arena. The Lady Owls lost at Lyon 60-52 on Jan. 3.
