LINN — Senior guard Parker Pitzen logged a game-high 23 points, including seven 3-pointers, to fuel New Bloomfield's Show-Me Conference win over Linn in a matchup between Lady Wildcats on Friday night.

New Bloomfield (11-11, 2-4 SMC) — which has won two in a row — built a 17-11 lead after one quarter and took control by outscoring Linn 20-8 in the second quarter to stretch its advantage to 37-19 at halftime. New Bloomfield was on top 50-28 going into the fourth quarter.

Sophomore guard Makenna Branch scored nine points for New Bloomfield. Senior center Samantha Haas and senior forward Katie Kelley both had eight points.

"We're hitting a lot of 3s," New Bloomfield head coach Brett Craighead said. "(Opposing defenses) have been packing it in all year on us and we've started hitting our outside shots.

"That's a good sign and hopefully we keep it up."

Alexis Wolfe paced Linn with 16 points.

New Bloomfield (5-2) won the junior varsity game 44-30. Freshman guard Ellie Emerson responded with 11 points and freshman center Sylvia Moss contributed eight.

New Bloomfield's scheduled nonconference home game against Centralia on Monday night has been cancelled and will not be made up. The Lady Wildcats travel to St. Elizabeth for an SMC contest at 5 p.m. Thursday.
