Boys' basketball: St. Elizabeth 79, South Callaway 52

MOKANE - The Bulldogs were outscored 29-4 in the second quarter and had their three-game winning streak emphatically stopped in a Show-Me Conference loss to the Hornets on Tuesday night.

South Callaway (11-11, 5-2 SMC) was only down 20-13 after one quarter, but St. Elizabeth's outburst in the second quarter put the Hornets comfortably in front 49-17 at halftime. The Bulldogs trailed 67-38 entering the fourth quarter.

Senior guard Treysen Gray directed South Callaway with 19 points and junior forward Caleb Hall provided 14.

The Bulldogs host Missouri Military Academy at 6 p.m. Friday, then face New Bloomfield in the twice-rescheduled fifth-place game of the South Callaway Tournament at 3 p.m. Saturday.
