AUXVASSE - The Thunderbirds had only six hits but drew 10 walks and capitalized on five errors to demolish the Tigers in an Eastern Missouri Conference romp Monday night.
North Callaway - which has won four of its last five - improved to 6-9 overall and 4-2 in the EMO. Mark Twain tumbled to 1-10 on the season and 1-5 in conference play.
The Thunderbirds were in front 2-1 after one inning, added a run in the second, four runs in the third and pulled away with a 10-run outburst in the fourth to end the game on the 10-run rule.
Senior first baseman Jordan Delashmutt finished 2-for-3 with two runs batted in and three runs scored for North Callaway. Senior shortstop Dawson Wright went 1-for-3 with two RBI and scored two runs.
Senior starter Justin Coffman worked three innings to collect the win for the Thunderbirds. Coffman (3-2) allowed one earned run on three hits, struck out five and walked one.
North Callaway (2-8-1) also prevailed in the junior varsity game 5-1.
The Thunderbirds host a rescheduled EMO matchup against Clopton at 5 p.m. today.
