High school baseball: Eugene 6, New Bloomfield 2

EUGENE - The Wildcats out-hit the Eagles 7-5 but committed three errors in dropping to 2-12 on the season and 0-3 in the Show-Me Conference after Monday night's loss.

New Bloomfield took a 2-0 lead when it scored both of its runs in the top of the second inning. Sophomore second baseman Breycin Dysart raced home from third on a two-out error and junior starter Robbie Bradley followed with a double to score senior right fielder Conner Edwards.

Eugene answered with three runs in the bottom of the third to go in front to stay at 3-2. The Eagles tacked on two runs in the fourth and one run in the sixth.

Senior first baseman Clayton Martin was 2-for-3 for the Wildcats, while Bradley and Dysart were both 1-for-2. Senior shortstop Luke Nadler finished 1-for-3 and junior left fielder Nash Quick went 1-for-4.

Bradley (0-3) issued five walks and had three strikeouts to take the complete-game loss.

New Bloomfield played a nonconference game at Prairie Home on Tuesday night. Results were not available at press time.
