Football: Missouri School for Deaf 64, Wisconsin School for Deaf 62

DELAVAN, Wis. - Junior running back Mikal Meriweather erupted for 277 yards rushing and four touchdowns as the Eagles completed their season by holding off the Firebirds in a shootout Thursday.

MSD junior defensive lineman Jordan Summers came up with a big tackle on a late two-point conversion attempt as WSD tried to tie the game.

Meriweather also logged 13 tackles at his linebacker position for the Eagles, who finished with a 3-3 record. Sophomore running back Connor Luper provided two touchdowns and scored on a fumble recovery and recorded 13 tackles at his linebacker spot.

Sophomore quarterback Hezeki Smoot threw a touchdown pass and ran for a score for MSD.

Junior defensive back Damar Washington piled up 24 tackles and forced a pair of fumbles, recovering one. Freshman linebacker Jayden Riordan finished with 12 tackles.
