Girls' basketball: Missouri School for Deaf 32, Iowa School for Deaf 6

Senior point guard Delanzia Hayes connected for a game-high 14 points, steering the host Lady Eagles to their first victory of the season in Friday night's rout of the Lady Bobcats.

Hayes also had seven rebounds and three assists as MSD (1-6) jumped out to a 13-2 lead after one quarter and owned a 15-4 advantage at halftime. The Lady Eagles took control by outscoring ISD 10-2 in the third quarter to stretch their lead to 25-6.

Freshman center Sara Famer added 10 points, six rebounds and four steals for MSD. Senior guard Melissa Davis accounted for four points and 10 rebounds, while freshman guard Cristin Kohl finished with four points, four rebounds and five steals.

Jada Bushman, Erica Bloomhall and Emily Lachin each scored two points for the Lady Bobcats.

The Lady Eagles remained at home for a matchup against Kansas School for the Deaf on Saturday night. Results were not available at press time.

MSD travels to Wellsville at 5:30 p.m. Monday.
