Hornets tennis team takes down Tolton in 8-1 victory

Fulton raises season record to 9-1

The Fulton Hornets tennis team improved to 9-1 on the season with an 8-1 nonconference victory over the Father Tolton Trailblazers on Thursday night at the high school athletic complex.

"With every week and every match, we keep getting a little bit better," Fulton head coach Louis Schnoebelen said. "We haven't taken any steps back."

No. 1 singles: senior Haydon Windsor (F) defeated Drew Hendrick (T), 10-1; No. 2: sophomore Aiden Petterson (F) def. Chase Jeffrey (T), 10-4; No. 3: sophomore John Adams (F) def. Devin Harvey (T), 10-1; No. 4: Peyton Kiesling (T) def. senior Devin Ferro (F), 10-8; No. 5: junior Garrett Johnson (F) def. Thomas Mengisteab (T), 10-5; No. 6: sophomore Trent Dunn (F) def. Max Jeffrey (T), 10-2.

No. 1 doubles: Adams/Petterson (F) def. Hendrick/C. Jeffrey (T), 10-3; No. 2: Windsor/Ferro (F) def. Harvey/Kiesling (T), 10-3; No. 3: Johnson/Dunn (F) def. Mengisteab/M. Jeffrey (T), 10-1.

Fulton competes at the Pirate Open in Boonville at 9 a.m. Saturday.
