Softball: Iberia 10, South Callaway 2

MOKANE, Mo. - The Iberia Lady Rangers jumped on the South Callaway Lady Bulldogs early and cruised for a eight-run win.

Iberia scored a run in the first inning, five in the second, and two in the third and fourth. They led by as many as nine on Friday night against South Callaway (6-8, 1-2 SMC).

The Lady Bulldogs scored one run apiece in the second and fifth to make it respectable. Freshman pitcher Cassidy Crocker got the start and pitched four, allowing 10 runs, six earned, walking three batters and registering a strike out.

Raeghan Meyer came in for relief and struck out two and walked one while allowing no hits or runs.

South Callaway also fell on Thursday night to St. Elizabeth 5-4. The Lady Hornets scored all five of their runs in the final two innings to steal a victory from the Lady Bulldogs.

Freshman pitcher Kayleigh Torufa pitched six, struck out seven, allowed five hits and five runs along with a walk.

The Lady Bulldogs will return to action at 5 p.m. Monday against Fayette.
