LINN, Mo. - The South Callaway Lady Bulldogs fell in Tuesday night's Show-Me Conference matchup after the Linn Lady Wildcats broke a 3-all tie with two runs in the bottom of the fifth inning.
South Callaway (6-6, 1-1 SMC) put up a run in the top of the first, but Linn countered with two runs in the third to go in front 2-1. The Lady Bulldogs pulled even with a run in the fourth, but the Lady Wildcats went on top 3-2 with a run in their half of the inning.
South Callaway tied the game for a second time by scoring a run in the top of the fifth.
Freshman catcher Andrea Witt finished 2-for-4 with a run scored as the Lady Bulldogs were limited to five hits.
Freshman starter Cassidy Crocker took the loss for South Callaway, giving up five runs - three earned - on six hits in four innings. Crocker struck out four and walked one.
The Lady Bulldogs were edged in the junior varsity game 6-5.
South Callaway returns to the road for an SMC game at St. Elizabeth at 5 p.m. today.
