LINN, Mo. - The No. 2 seed Linn Lady Wildcats manufactured the game's only run in the bottom of the seventh inning to jolt the No. 3 South Callaway Lady Bulldogs in the Class 2, District 9 semifinals Thursday night.
Linn used a single, a one-out double and another single to deliver the decisive run.
South Callaway - completing its season with a 10-15 record - managed only four hits. Sophomore Kelsey Logan was 1-for-3 with a double, freshman Kayleigh Torufa also went 1-for-3 and sophomore Raeghan Meyer and freshman Andrea Witt both finished 1-for-2.
Torufa suffered the complete-game loss, scattering four hits, striking out seven and issuing one walk.
Top-seeded Fatima edged Linn 5-4 on Friday night to win the District 9 championship.
