South Callaway girls, boys take fifth at Russellville Quad

RUSSELLVILLE, Mo. - Juniors Adrian Mann and Kaci Jordan, and freshman Raeghan Meyer each produced victories as the South Callaway Lady Bulldogs finished fifth in Tuesday's season-opening Russellville Quad.

In the boys' division, senior Bennett Hager and junior Hunter Schroer both posted first- and second-place finishes to pace South Callaway to a fifth-place team finish.

Mann prevailed in the 300 hurdles with a time of 51.75 seconds as the Lady Bulldogs amassed 82 points. Linn earned the girls' team championship with 131 points, while Eugene was second with 120 and Russellville came in third with 91.5.

Jordan triumphed in the triple jump with a leap of 31 feet, 9 inches, and Meyer was victorious in the pole vault at 8-0. Junior Elizabeth Luebbert took second in the 3,200 in 14:03.52 and finished fourth in the 1,600 in 6:31.73, while junior Ashley Potter came in fourth in the high jump at 4-8.

The Lady Bulldogs' 400 relay of Potter, Jordan, Meyer and Mann took second in :56.52. The 3,200 relay of Mann, junior Ellie Dunnavant, senior Kallie Guthrie and Luebbert placed fourth in 12:34.76.

Bennett Hager won the pole vault at 12-6 and came in second in the javelin with a distance of 140-1 as the Bulldogs tallied 73.5 points. Tipton compiled 105 points to edge New Bloomfield's 104 for the boys' team title.

Schroer took first in the discus with a heave of 126-1 and finished second in the shot put at 39-11 1/2.

Sophomore Wyatt Hager was also second in the pole vault at 12-0, placed third in the javelin at 110-7 and came in fourth in the 110 hurdles in :19.20 for South Callaway. Junior Austin Meyer took third in the high jump at 5-10.

South Callaway competes in the Thunderbird Open at North Callaway at 4 p.m. Tuesday, March 28.
