Golf: Fulton takes second in opening triangular

Sophomore Erin Brady shot a team-low 47 in directing the Fulton Hornets to a second-place finish in Monday's season opener with Blair Oaks and Boonville at Tanglewood Golf Course.

Senior Isaac Franklin was a shot back with a 48 as Fulton compiled a 214 team total. Blair Oaks - led by medalist Kyle Backes' 38 - easily took first place with a 171 and Boonville was third with a 226.

Freshman Brooke Whyte also provided a 57 for the Hornets and sophomore Andrew Bauermeister contributed a 62.

"Obviously we have room for improvement, but it was good to get out and play," Fulton head coach Pat Kelley said.

The Hornets compete in The Callaway Cup at 4 p.m. next Monday at Tanglewood.
