Boys' Basketball: Missouri School for Deaf 56, Michigan School for Deaf 49

Senior forward Scotty Percy logged 18 points to lead three players in double figures and the host Eagles resisted a second-half rally by the Tartars to prevail Friday night.

Missouri School for the Deaf (4-2) raced to a 14-2 lead after one quarter and carried a 27-12 advantage into the break. The Eagles pulled out the victory despite being outscored by Michigan School for the Deaf 37-29 over the final 16 minutes.

Senior point guard Ste'Quan Scott also supplied 15 points for Missouri School for the Deaf and freshman center Mikal Meriwether contributed 14.

The Eagles were coming off a 45-42 road win over Community R-6's junior varsity Thursday night. MSD owned a 13-8 edge after the first quarter and went into halftime with a 24-18 lead.

The Eagles took a 37-27 advantage into the fourth quarter and held on for the triumph despite being outscored by the Trojans 15-8 over the last 8 minutes.

Scott topped MSD with 17 points and nine rebounds, while Meriwether produced 12 points and six rebounds.

Nathan Gastler led Community with a game-high 21 points.
