Girls' Basketball: New Haven 59, South Callaway 32

NEW HAVEN, Mo. - The South Callaway Lady Bulldogs lost their second game in a row to the New Haven Lady Shamrocks on Monday night.

The Lady Bulldogs (9-7) - who lost to New Haven 48-30 in the third-place game of the South Callaway Tournament on Thursday - trailed 18-11 after the first quarter. The Lady Shamrocks outscored the Lady Bulldogs 16-6 in the second period to extend their lead to 34-17 at halftime. New Haven outscored South Callaway 16-6 in the third quarter to stretch its advantage to 50-23.

"They (Lady Shamrocks) are a really well-rounded team, their guards can hit shots anywhere on the floor," Lady Bulldogs head coach Darren Humphrey said. "We've had trouble hitting baskets lately. They (Lady Shamrocks) hit some big buckets in the second quarter and we just couldn't make up ground.

"They contained our inside game very well and we couldn't hit shots from the outside."

Junior guard Adrian Mann led South Callaway with 15 points, while senior center Konnor Arrowood came up with eight.

South Callaway lost the junior varsity game 15-11 in two quarters. Freshman guard Raeghan Meyer scored all 11 points for the Lady Bulldogs (1-2).

The Lady Bulldogs face New Bloomfield in the opening round of the Sturgeon Tournament on Monday.
