Potter and Lady Bulldogs pound Russellville 68-48

RUSSELLVILLE, Mo. - South Callaway junior guard Ashley Potter posted a double-double with a game-high 20 points and 18 rebounds Friday night, steering the Lady Buldogs to a 68-48 SMC blitz of Russellville.

South Callaway (8-4, 4-0 Show-Me Conference) was only up 11-8 after one quarter, but outscored Russellville 21-12 in the second quarter to push its advantage to 32-20 at the break. The Lady Bulldogs owned a 48-33 edge to start the fourth quarter.

Potter was one of four players to reach double figures for South Callaway. Junior guard Adrian Mann connected for 15 points, junior guard Kaci Jordan supplied 13 and senior center Konnor Arrowood also tallied a double-double with 10 points and 13 rebounds.

"We moved the ball really well, we got a lot of post touches for Konnor and we were able to feed off that," Lady Bulldogs head coach Darren Humphrey said. "Defensively, we crashed the boards."

Ally Harris led Russellville with 10 points.

The Lady Bulldogs drew the fifth seed for their South Callaway Tournament and will clash with No. 4 North Callaway in the first round at 7:30 p.m. Monday. The game will be played at the high school. South Callaway will be seeking to redeem itself after suffering a narrow 43-42 loss to the Ladybirds on Jan. 2 in Kingdom City.

"I'm really looking forward to a pretty good game," Humphrey said of Monday night's rematch. "I thought we left some (opportunities) out on the floor that (previous) night."
