Girls' Basketball: New Bloomfield 61, Richland 51

NEW BLOOMFIELD, Mo. - The New Bloomfield Lady Wildcats defeated the Richland Lady Bears in a non-conference game on Saturday night.

New Bloomfield (18-6) led 14-11 after the first quarter and maintained a 29-26 advantage at halftime. Both teams scored 10 points in the third period as the Lady Wildcats held a 39-36 lead.

Senior guard Kate Baxter, junior guard Madi Craighead and sophomore center Samantha Haas led New Bloomfield with 15 points apiece. Senior forward Madison Love put up 10 points.

"We had one of our better shooting nights," New Bloomfield head coach Brett Craighead said. "We shot the ball pretty well and we just passed the ball well. We had a lot of contributions from a lot of different players and that makes us hard to guard."

Morgan Moss and Brittany Latham directed the Lady Bears with 15 points apiece, while Jessi Whittle came up with 14.

New Bloomfield (6-3) prevailed in the junior varsity game 34-25.

Sophomore guard Parker Pitzen led the Lady Wildcats with 15 points and sophomore guard Haley Berhorst added 10.

New Bloomfield plays a Show-Me Conference game at St. Elizabeth for its final regular-season matchup at 6:15 p.m. Thursday.
