Boys' Basketball: Fatima 68, South Callaway 55

MOKANE, Mo. - The South Callaway Bulldogs dropped a Show-Me Conference game to the Fatima Comets on Saturday night.

South Callaway (8-14, 3-2 SMC) trailed 17-13 after the first quarter and faced a 31-28 deficit at halftime. Fatima outscored the Bulldogs 21-13 in the third period to stretch its lead to 52-41.

"Our boys came out and played hard to start, but Fatima's pressure led to several early turnovers," South Callaway head coach Tony Brandt said. "We were down three points at halftime and got off to a slow start in the third quarter."

Junior guard Kaden Helsel directed the Bulldogs with 24 points. Junior guard Landon Clark provided 16 points and senior guard Brandon Ashley scored 12.

Steven Brandt led the Comets with 24 points, while Eric Brendel and Tim Brunnert added 10 apiece.

The Bulldogs host an SMC game against Tuscumbia at 5 p.m. today.
