Girls' Basketball: Missouri School for Deaf 61, Minnesota State Academy for Deaf 24

LITTLE ROCK, Ark. - The fifth-seeded MSD Lady Eagles tallied a season-high total in overpowering the No. 8 Lady Trojans from Minnesota in the consolation semifinals of the Great Plains Schools for the Deaf Tournament on Friday afternoon.

MSD (2-13) built a 29-16 halftime lead and then erupted in the third quarter, outscoring MSAD 26-2 to open up a comfortable 55-18 edge.

Senior forward Elizabeth Harrison posted her fourth double-double of the season with 23 points and 12 steals, paired with eight rebounds, to spark the Lady Eagles. Sophomore guard Delanzia Hayes also had 23 points and six rebounds, while senior guard Tyra Rogers finished with nine points and four steals.

MSD was coming off a narrow 35-34 first-round loss to No. 4 seed New Mexico School for the Deaf on Thursday afternoon. Hayes paced the Lady Eagles with 14 points and five steals, while Harrison produced another double-double with 12 points and 19 rebounds.
